About

The Imperative

Biomass is a global problem hiding in plain sight

Billions of tonnes of biomass go to waste each year, decomposing, burning in open fields, or feeding low-value applications like direct combustion. Invasive species, forest fire fuel loads, and crop residues compound the problem, releasing greenhouse gases and pollutants including particulate matter, NOx, and methane while degrading ecosystems and accelerating climate change.

We see waste biomass not as a disposal problem but as the largest untapped feedstock for industrial decarbonization and durable carbon removal.

~5B tonnes
sustainably accessible low-value biomass globally
8Gt+
CO2 equivalent from biomass burning and decomposition annually

We are building the infrastructure to convert the world's waste biomass into high-value industrial products and permanent carbon removal.

How we work
Honesty

We say what we think, including the parts that are inconvenient. Good news, bad news, tough calls, we share openly with partners, team, and investors.

Delivery

Reliability and scale come first. We solve problems and ship results, not slideware.

Aligned partnership

Every project has to work for all stakeholders. We are open about economics, incentives, and alignment because sustainable impact requires sustainable business.

Enjoying the work

We are building something that matters and we want to enjoy doing it. We bring energy, curiosity, and good humor to hard problems.

Ethics come first.

Our full ethical commitments, including standards on safety, anti-corruption, community engagement, and environmental protection, are detailed separately.
